Two shows I really wanted to see had receptions on the same night, so I attended both. First stop was the group show, The Event of the Line at Drive-By Projects in Watertown, MA which was curated by Ben Sloat. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see both Ben and Candice Ivy’s work. It was nice to finally see Candice’s work as well as catch up with her and meet Lilly who was in the back room being plastered with temporary tattoos.

The second stop of the night was at Denise Driscoll’s solo exhibit,  Part of the Pattern at Amazing Things Art Center in Framingham, MA. It was a fantastic show with a large body of work filling three galleries. I really like the direction Denise’s work is going and her latest series of paintings are amazing. It was also great to see Denise as well as my other AIB MFA alumni friends that were in attendance. I really enjoying seeing at that work and the artists, which made for a fun night and well worth the babysitter costs and long drives across the eastern half of the state.
